League Mission Statement (rev 12/01)
The purpose of the Livermore Youth Soccer League is to develop, foster and promote an organized youth soccer program to the citizens of the city of Livermore. Toward this end, it will undertake the following the activities:
Initiate a program in soccer to benefit the citizen of Livermore
Advise the city council on all matters concerning Youth Soccer, including pending legislation and current recommendations
Work closely with the Livermore Valley School District, with colleges and universities, and with any other educational institutions in the city on the development of appropriate youth soccer programs
Allocate public and/or private funds as appropriate to organizations, agencies, or individuals who can provide soccer programs or products of high quality there are deemed beneficial to the community
Seek and apply for state, federal, and private funds available in support of youth soccer
Develop directories of local youth soccer organizations, governing bodies, and other supporting entities; assemble calendars and schedules of youth soccer events; and compile other material as appropriate to promote youth soccer in Livermore
Conduct ongoing planning, researching the youth soccer needs of the city, including new youth soccer facilities, and developing, updating, and evaluating progress against periodic written plans for the growth of youth soccer in Livermore
Develop an awareness in the business community, in local government, and in the general public of the value of youth soccer in Livermore
Engage in any other activities that will enhance youth sport opportunities in Livermore
League High Comp Sub-Mission Statement (rev 2/00)
LYSL shall provide a High Competition soccer program that will ensure that each club member is afforded the opportunity to progressively develop their skills and talents to the highest possible level. In order to achieve this goal LYSL will:
Provide an informed, responsive and efficient management structure to oversee the AC and Traveling House programs, this will be called the High Comp Committee
Provide quality coaching in all age groups and for all teams
Provide a professional Technical Director, team trainers and a program that will manage player and coach development
Provide to the extent possible facilities and equipment necessary for effective player/team development
