How to Submit Team Publicity
Your team's game
information can be submitted for publication in one of Livermore's three local
newspapers. To submit your information, please read the following instructions.
REMINDERS:
- All information is
required
by NOON on Sunday at the latest to make newspaper publication deadlines. No
exceptions!
If it is not in on time, your information may not be submitted to the papers for
that week.
- Game results must include
results for BOTH TEAMS. The newspapers and the league want the results
for both teams. If only one team is turned in, the information will not be
submitted.
- To do this, the team
publicity people should locate each other and introduce themselves before the
start of the game. If a publicity person is not available, the coach or
assistant-coach will act as back-up. Decide who will be sending in the report -
typically this is the Home team, but it can be the Visitors. Then meet up and
compare notes and player name spellings after the game.
- Do not capitalize the
complete team names or player names. Only capitalize the first letters of the
word. (Title Case).
- Check your spelling. This
information will not be checked for spelling errors before it is submitted to
the paper. Be especially careful to spell the players names correctly.
Once you
have submitted your team publicity, the results will be submitted to the three
local papers within the week.
- Tri-Valley Herald
- LYSL Publicity Results are published in the Wednesday edition in the back of
the Sports Section.
- The Independent
- LYSL Publicity Results are published in the Thursday edition in the Sports
Notes section.
- The Valley Times
- LYSL Publicity Results are published in the Friday edition in the Home Town
section.
