 REFEREE
SIGN UP
- Referees come from the parents of the league. If you are
14 or over, you are eligible to take the referee course.
The league is dire need of more 20-35 year old adult
referees immediately. Click

 Meetings
The Livermore Referee Association
holds monthly meetings on the 4th Monday of each month. Meetings are open to the
public.
We especially
encourage our new referees to attend.
NEXT MEETING - AUGUST 27, 7:00 PM
We have a great meeting this month. The season is getting underway and
we want to focus this month on everything you need to know to have a
successful season. This meeting is particularly targeted at our 40
newly minted referees and we are sending them a special invitation to
attend, meet each other and some of the older hands. We will be
covering several key topics. Hope to see you, especially you new
referees.

Changes to the
laws of the game for 2007

Arbiter ins and
outs, how to get games and get paid for them

US Club, AC, GSSL,
CYSA rules for everyone. This year we have teams playing in all
four leagues and maybe some leagues we haven?t heard about. The
leagues differ in their playing rules, game reports, and
notifications; we will sort it all out for you.

material-you will have to show up to experience.

Livermore Referee
Association Referees Susie Gazzuolo
(left) and Sam Hoppes (right) were selected as
CYSA District III Referees of the Year. Additionally,
Susie was selected as the CYSA-NORTH Female Youth State
Referee of the Year. The Livermore Referee Association
is unmatched in their ability to produce top level referees
in Northern California.

Becoming
a Referee
Referees are
one of the key components to the game. They help ensure a fair
and safe environment for the players, coaches, and spectators.
The Livermore Referee Association has a monthly
newsletters, monthly meetings, mentoring, and support for the
development of all of the LRA referees. LRA is widely renowned for its
quality organization. In Northern California, a majority of the District
III and State Referees of the Year were from LRA. That is a huge honor

The Livermore
Referee Association is in need a good number of new referees this
year. If you are 14 years or older, you are eligible. Referees are
especially needed in the 20-35 age group. Let us know you are
interested in being directly contacted about upcoming clinics (Grade
9, Grade 8, Bridging from Grade 9 to Grade 8, etc.). Write to LRA

Grade 9 Referee License Course
All you need to bring to the Clinic is your enthusiasm, and
a check for $20 made our to LRA (Livermore Referee
Association). That is your registration fee and is sent off
the USSF in Chicago. If you do 10 games for us we will even
reimburse you for that $20 registration fee, also, if you
do 10 games, we will give you a $50 check to help defray
the cost of your gear. |
Grade
8 Referee License Course
All you need to bring to the Clinic is your enthusiasm, and
a check for $25 made our to LRA (Livermore Referee
Association). That is your registration fee and is sent off
the USSF in Chicago. If you do 10 games for us we will even
reimburse you for that $25 registration fee. |
Grade
8 to Grade 9 Bridge Referee License Course
This course is
offered to existing Grade 9 referees to upgrade to a Grade 9. |

Grade 9
Referees are authorized to be Referee or Assistant Referee only
on recreational games (House games) for U14 and younger age
groups. They are not allowed to work age groups older than
U14 or High Comp games at any age group. The Grade 9
clinic comprises 9 hours of instruction, including 4 hours of
classroom instruction, a 3-hour field session, and a written
examination on the rules. The Grade 9 clinics are either offered
on a single day or two four-hour sessions over 2 days. |
Grade 8 Referees
are authorized to be Referee or Assistant Referee on either house
games or High Comp games at all age levels. The Grade 8 clinic
comprises 18 hours of instruction, including 12 hours of classroom
instruction, a 3-hour field session, and a 3-hour session of review
and the written examination on the rules. The Grade 8 clinic
is generally offered in 6 separate sessions over a span of 7 to 12
days. It is not required to get get a Grade 9 before taking the
Grade 8 course. |
Once this course is
completed, the referee is a full Grade 8.

LRA
Membership in the Livermore Referee Association is open to all
persons in the community who have successfully completed an entry
level soccer referee clinic, which requires attending the required
training sessions given by certified USSF instructors, having
successfully passed the qualifying USSF examination
and maintaining their
status as a USSF-registered referee. Monthly meetings, which
usually include an hour of USSF-approved referee instruction, are
usually held the 4th Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the
Livermore Public Library, 1188 South Livermore Avenue, Livermore,
California.
