Academy System
(U9-U13)
Fusion Soccer Club’s new academy training methodology
is used for boys and girls in the U9-U13 age groups. The academy develops a “player
pool” instead of the old and antiquated team system. The ‘player pool’ method
has been an outstanding success world wide in developing exciting, skillful
players who expand their enhanced love of the game.
Each age
group will practice in gender specific groups where a high standard of training
consistency is ensured to maximize superior technical skill development. Our
coaching philosophy is to teach players through a methodical succession and guided
discovery progression to enhance learning and present them with the many
challenges that the sport provides so that they have a better understanding of the
game, instead of throwing all the answers at them and expecting them to
remember them.
We
encourage all players to play without any fear of making mistakes and to
express themselves positively on the soccer field. The main reason behind the strong
technical development of individual players in these age groups is that there is
so much emphasis on creating winning teams, that the players’ technical skills
have never adequately developed to be able to carry out the tactics needed to
play at the next level. After all, there are no tactics without technical
competency. It is the individual ball skills, self creativity and understanding
of the game that will form exciting soccer players who can play at the next
level.
Training
is managed by the Head Coach of the age group with the collaboration of the
Assistant Coaches. Players and teams then play at their level of ability to
ensure the development in practice can be utilized in a game situation. We
understand confidence is vital and built through successfully achieving your
goals at practice and being able to demonstrate them in a game environment.
Club system
(U14-U18)
Club
training methodology is used for boys and girls in the U14-U18 age groups. The
training approach continues to focus on the technical development and
refinement, but now includes a higher percentage of tactical components and the
different phases and functions of play. Training occurs at the age group level,
as well as individual team level. This methodology provides consistent training
of the club style of play, player and team tactical focus and the physical and
mental demands of the game. This approach prepares players with the necessary
skills and knowledge to compete at the highest level. In addition to playing
the game, we strongly believe in teaching our players about the importance of
teamwork, competition and strength of character.
A huge
component of the Club training method is the exciting and rewarding learning
environment and to reach beyond their vision of capability in order to improve not
only as players, but people, teammates and students.
Club
style training methodology is managed by the Head Coach of the age group with
the collaboration of the Assistant Coaches. The individual team training
sessions are managed by the Head Coach of each team.
