2010 Director of High Comp Welcome Message
Hello Players and Parents!
Your High Comp Committee has been busy working on a lot of new and exciting changes to the program, as well as improving on some successes. This year promises to be one of the most exciting yet. We've listened to your suggestions and are putting together a program that's focused on fun, technical skill development, creative play, and understanding of the game. If your player enjoys the game and is competitive in the Recreation or Rec+ programs, High Comp is the Program for them.

| 2010 Registration Information - Sunday, January 24, 2010
LEAGUE REGISTRATION TIMELINE 2010
The following important dates are key milestones in the 2010 league registration process.
- March 1, 2010 Online Registration opens via link posted on this website.
- April 24, 2010 Mail-In Registration documents and instructions published on this website and available for download.
- April 24, 2010 One day Walk-in Registration event to be held at Livermore High School.
- May 15, 2010 Open Registration Closes For U14 and Younger (online / mail-in)
This deadline applies to all players with a birthdate on or after August 1, 1996.
Online or mail-in registrations received after May 15 for these age groups are processed through a waiting list. Waiting list applicants will not be processed until mid-June. Wait listed applicants are placed on a space available basis and may not be rostered until the summer if at all. Please register early. - July 15, 2010 Open Registration Closes For U15 and Older (online / mail-in)
This deadline applies to all players with a birthdate on or before July 31, 1996.
Registration applications for these age groups that received after July 15 are processed through a waiting list as described above. More detailed information will be published for 2010 registration and playing programs, including Rec-Plus, during the first week of February.

LYSL is pleased to announce the installation of a contemporary voicemail system to replace our old system. Emails are still a preferred method of communication but the new system supports vastly improved message response by league staff. Our goal is to respond to all voicemail messages within 72 hours or less.

| High Comp Tryouts Are Here! - Monday, January 18, 20102010 HIGH COMP TRYOUTS
Hello Players,
The competitive team placement selections are around the corner. Coaches will look for different things during the exercises. There isn’t just one specific area that will catch the attention of a coach. Certainly technical ability is important to showcase, but also how a player moves without the ball, speed, work rate, etc. Be on time, follow coaching staff directions, work hard, have fun and let things happen naturally. We ask that all players that plan to join us at the team placement selection days to please pre-register in order to expedite your registration. Tryout pre-registration and participation is free. Use the form accessed through the link below and please reference the age matrix to select the appropriate age group trying out for. Registrations will also be accepted in person at the team placement selection locations.

| Request For Pictures - Tuesday, November 24, 2009ATTENTION LEAGUE SHUTTERBUGS
LYSL has received a good share of team photos this year from different tournament events. We are happy to post these pictures on the Team News page with a brief write up about the team and the event.
We would also like to show general pictures of LYSL players of all ages during match play, practices, drop-ins, coaching clinics, or just about any time our kids are having fun with LYSL activity. So, if membership would send us some of their digital photos, we can load them into a photo gallery that will rotate through a slideshow. Keep in mind that if each member sent us just one photo, we would have thousands, so the best bet would be to select your single best shot and send it in. It would be helpful if in your email message you explained where the picture was taken and what event it was taken at.
These photos will be used for website slide show only, not for any commercial use or distribution. Please email your photo submissions to photos@lysl.org

| Robertson Park Resurfacing Project - Thursday, November 05, 2009LARPD AND LYSL PARTNER FOR ROBERTSON PARK FIELD RENOVATION PROJECT
LYSL and LARPD have entered a mutli-year field use agreement through which LARPD will receive funding support from LYSL for replacing the playing surfaces at the Robertson Park soccer complex.
